Veronica Cheng

BA Political Science, PBT Certified | Ballet, Pre-Pointe + Lyrical

Growing up in Surrey BC, Veronica fell in love with ballet at the age of five. Her foundational dance training explored a variety of styles, but focused mostly on Ballet, Progressing Ballet Technique, and Jazz.

Veronica competed all across the lower mainland and began student teaching at 15. Outside of the studio, she enjoys yoga, hiking, and cooking for her friends & family.

She successfully completed all her vocational ballet exams with the Royal Academy of Dance, receiving her ARAD (achievement at the Advanced 2 Level) in 2018.

Veronica graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2022, earning her BA. in Political Science, with a minor in Gender, Race, Sexuality, and Social Justice.

While a student at UBC, Veronica performed with UBC's Competitive Ballet Team, choreographed student pieces for the club, and gained teaching experienced guest teaching at studios around the lower mainland.

Additionally, she organized and choreographed a 10 minute music and dance production for Songfest- an annual philanthropic event held at the Chan centre, attended by UBC's President Santa Ono.

Veronica is looking forward to upcoming professional development courses that will support her continued growth as a dance educator who specializes in teaching Ballet.

Miss Veronica is passionate about community, movement, and making dance accessible for all, and is so excited for her third season with the Driftwood family!
